closedWhen We Are Closed

Please dial the usual surgery number 01593 721216.  Your call will then be diverted to NHS 24 and your personal particulars will be taken along with details of your medical problem.  You will then either be given advice by NHS 24 or your call will be passed to the appropriate clinician.

When you or someone acting on your behalf contacts the Out of Hours service for healthcare advice or treatment the nurse may ask if they can look up your emergency care information from your GP record.

This is: your name, address, telephone number, age, any known allergies and any repeat medication.  This allows the doctor or nurse to know which drugs you have been prescribed, even if you are too ill to remember.

If you do not wish your GP information to be available to the doctor or nurse looking after you out of hours, then please let the practice know in writing.

NHS 24 phone – 111 (one one one)

This is a new 24 hour health service which has round the clock health advice and support from highly trained and experienced nurses.

Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
